Academic Programs & Curriculum
In Baldwin Union Free School District, our elementary schools focus on educating the whole child—socially, emotionally, and academically. We especially emphasize the importance of focusing on the six C's: creativity, communication, collaboration, critical-thinking and civic-mindedness. We are dedicated to developing an innovative school system that offers a rigorous educational program customized to cater to the unique needs of every student.
At the elementary level, there is a strong foundational curriculum in place that supports students with the Next Generation Learning Standards and New York State Assessments through balanced literacy and the Eureka Math program, which was built around the core principles that students need to know more than just what works when solving a problem—they need to understand why it works.
