2024-2025 School Year

About Free Meal Program for All Baldwin Students

We are pleased to announce that all Baldwin School District students will once again be able to receive a FREE breakfast and lunch meal at all schools throughout the 2024-2025 school year.

This implementation is a result of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) expanding access to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP allows eligible schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer school meals at no charge to all students.  Baldwin Schools applied and has once again been approved for this program at all of our schools for the 2024-2025 school year.

What does this mean for your child(ren) attending Baldwin School District? All students will be eligible to receive one breakfast and one lunch meal per day at no cost to your household. Even though families are no longer required to submit an application to qualify for these free meals, it is strongly recommended that you still complete the  Application 2024-2025 above. Although all children in the school will receive meals/milk at no charge regardless of household income, completing this important form may determine eligibility for discounts on AP Exam fees and other waivers that your child(ren) may benefit from.  It also helps Baldwin School District qualify for other State and Federal Program Grants that enhance student learning, and is a determining factor in how state aid is calculated for our district.

Please note:

  • This school meal  DOES NOT apply to “ala carte” menu items. It only pertains to one school breakfast and one school lunch “meal" per day.
  • Any additional “meals” would need to be charged.
  • Menus will not “change” because of this program. The improvements in the program and menu selections the district has introduced and expanded over the past couple of years will continue.
  • School building schedules for both breakfast and lunch will remain unchanged.

If you have any questions, please contact Grace Fleming, food service manager for Baldwin UFSD, at 516-434-6042.
