Baldwin UFSD Participates in Red Ribbon Week 2024
Students and faculty throughout the Baldwin Union Free School District recently participated in Red Ribbon Week, joining a nationwide effort to promote awareness about drug use and its impact on communities. The annual campaign encourages parents, educators, business leaders, and local organizations to support drug-free lifestyles.
The 2024 theme was "Life is A Movie, Film Drug Free." Students took part in various school-wide themed days, wearing red to showcase their commitment to a drug-free life and donning jerseys to "team up" against drug use.
The first official Red Ribbon Week celebration was created by the National Family Partnership (NFP) in 1988. NFP continues to coordinate the campaign for families, schools, and communities across the nation each year. Since then, the red ribbon has symbolized a continuing commitment to reducing the demand for illicit drugs in our nation’s communities. For more information visit: www.getsmartaboutdrugs.gov
